Marchmont and Sciennes Community Council represents an area of
Edinburgh, densely populated with tenement flats and in addition an
area of villa style of housing and also sheltered housing.
A regular topic of discussion is the integration of the student
population with the permanent residents of tenement
stairs. Traffic and parking are also often on the agenda, the
care of the Meadows, local police reports and any topical
subject. Marchmont is a self contained area with excellent
shops providing all every day needs and more, with a good community
atmosphere. It also has regular bus services to the city
centre.
