Have your say
Local Youth Forums in Edinburgh
Local
Youth Forums are a chance for you to have your say on issues that
affect your life.
The Youth Forums link into Neighbourhood Partnerships, and can
affect decisions made at a local level, all the way up to the
highest level in government.
You can choose how your Youth Forum works, the issues you deal,
with and even the name.
You can make a difference!
Youth Forums look at all sorts of issues including:
- Local transport such as buses and trams
- Parks and GraffitiSchools and after school activities
- Healthy eating and smoking
- Crime Sports facilities and clubs
We work closely with the 12 Neighbourhood Partnerships set up
across the city. The Neighbourhood Partnerships work to improve the
quality of life in each area, so the opinions and suggestions made
at Local Youth Forms are important to them.
We link into other young people's organisations too. They
include:
- Pupil/student councils
- Scottish Youth Parliament
- Edinburgh Youth Council
You could also attend meetings with these groups to tell them
about your opinions and solutions to the issues that you feel are
important. The forums are supported by youth workers from your
local community learning and development team or youth
organisation.
