Almond NP Initiative to 'Increase opportunities for children and young people'

In a local example of participatory budgeting the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership is offering Almond based youth groups the opportunity to bid for a Community Grants Fund award [max £500] to take forward projects that would address the Neighbourhood Partnership priority of increasing opportunities for children and young people.

Young People from across the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership area are being encouraged to put forward their ideas for projects that they think would make the area a better place for young people and the community.

Participatory budgeting directly involves local people in making decisions on the spending and priorities for a defined public budget. Local young people will have a say in how the funding is allocated. All applications submitted will be assessed by a panel comprised of young people from local schools and members of the Neighbourhood Partnership Board.

Following the success of the 2013/14; 2014/15 and  2015/16YOU(TH) Decides Initiative, the Almond NP is supporting the Initiative again during 2016/17
