New Guidelines for buskers in the city centre
As a result of requests from local people, the City
Centre Community Safety Team have worked with Lothian and
Borders Police through the City Centre Neighbourhood Partnership
Safe and Healthy Group to produce a set of good practice guidelines
for buskers in the city centre area. The guidelines,
launched on Monday 27th June 2011, will be distributed to
performers in the area by City centre police officers, Council
environmental wardens and community safety team officers. Where
buskers fail to comply with the new guidelines, Section 54 of the
Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 will be used.
For full details, please see the Busking Guidelines on the main Council
website
