neighbourhood update information on our response to local

North Severe Weather local updates.
12 March 2013
With the snowfall over
the last couple of days Council staff have been busy each morning
making sure that pavements in agreed priority locations - outside
schools, GPs' surgeries, hospitals, bus stops, sheltered housing,
shops - are kept gritted and free from snow and ice. We
hope we've got all locations covered but if you know of
somewhere that should be a priority and hasn't been done please
contact Mandy Rudden at the North
Office on 529 5011 or email
mandy.rudden@edinburgh.gov.uk
and she'll look into it for you.
The Council's city-wide
gritting teams have been doing a great job in keeping the
main routes free of snow and ice, and are now moving onto
Priority 2 locations. Father
information on
gritting
routes
can be found on the Council's
website. They've also treated the
North Edinburgh cycleway. Once these locations have been
treated, and if there is no further bad weather, they'll be
able to look at roads and pavements within housing estates.
If you're aware of any particular problem areas in your
neighbourhood please contact Mandy so that she can pass on details
to the gritting
team.
There has been some
disruption to Waste collection in other parts of the city,
but no weather related problems have been reported within
Forth or Inverleith.
Overall in Forth and
Inverleith it's business as usual, with the local office at
8 West Pilton
Gardens and libraries all operating
normally.
