City Centre De-cluttering
City Centre De-cluttering Update
19 April 2011
The evaluation of the city centre A-board de-cluttering pilot
is currently underway
A number of opinion surveys have been carried out in order to
gauge public opinion on de-cluttering. The results of these will
contribute to the wider evaluation process and will be
considered within the context of the Council's longer term policy
and strategy objectives.
One of the surveys was an electronic one sent out to a range of
stakeholders from the City Centre Neighbourhood Partnership
database on the 3rd December 2010. From the 124 responses received,
55.7% (68 of those who responded) indicated that they did not think
that the A-board ban had improved the appearance of the area while
56.5% (70 of those responding) did not think the ban had
improved accessibility and the freedom of movement.
We will keep you updated on the wider evaluation over the coming
weeks.
