Broomview House Blowdown

September will see another big step in the Council's ongoing regeneration work in North Sighthill, with the 'blowdown' of Broomview House. You'll be able to watch the demolition of Broomview House here on Sunday.

Building commenced in 1966, with the first residents moving in on the 18th of December 1967. However, it is no longer economically viable to bring the building up to the standard expected of a modern home. The building will now be demolished to make way for regeneration of the North Sighthill area.

Broomview, once home to 84 properties, has been empty since October 2007 after the remaining residents were rehomed to make way for the regeneration plans. Starting in July of this year, all internal fittings, windows and some internal walls have been removed in preparation for the concrete structure to be blown down using explosive charges.

REMEMBER! There are no safe viewing areas that offer a full view of the building. WATCH THE FOOTAGE ONLINE
