Community Grants Info
Community Grants Funds are available to local constituted groups for one-off projects up to a maximum of £5000. Criteria, which are under review, are currently for:
- Community Participation and Support, such as consultation exercises or capacity building
- Quality of Life, such as improving the environment or improving recreational spaces
- Social Inclusion, such as reducing inequalities or raising achievement levels
The allocation to South Central NP for Community Grants Fund for 2008/09 was £121,291. This comprised £106,693 Core Funding (included £42,550 carry forward), and £14,598 Quality of Life funding.
The following organisations were awarded funding under the Community Grants Fund at the Partnership meeting on 11th August:
- £5,000 to The Merchiston Tennis & Bowling Club for an upgarde of the clubhouse kitchen
- £5,000 to The Pakistan Society for a training programme for shop keepers on the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005
- £5,000 to The West Crosscauseway Association as part of a larger Causey 2 project
