ALMOND NEIGHBOURHOOD PARTNERSHIP
DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE COMMUNITY GRANTS FUND ?
The Neighbourhood Partnership's Community Grants Fund is a small grants scheme supported by funds provided by the City of Edinburgh Council and is open for applications throughout the year (subject to availability of funds).
The Fund aims to encourage small scale activity that benefits local communities and supports the work of Neighbourhood Partnerships and their Local Community Plans. Grant applications are invited from fully constituted organisations with open membership criteria
The fund can provide grants of up to £5,000 to voluntary and community groups, and is allocated locally by Neighbourhood Managers, following the advice of the Neighbourhood Partnership.
The Almond Neighbourhood Partnership's budget allocation for 2016/17 amounts to £21,905.
In the last financial year [2015/16] the Partnership made 14 awards support a range of diverse projects such as Queensferry Tennis Club - Friends of the River Almond Walkway - Gateside Tenants and Residents Association and the South Queensferry Dementia Friendly Initiative.
DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE YOU[TH] DECIDES INITIATIVE ?
The Almond Neighbourhood Partnership is pleased to announce that it has allocated £2,000 for awards to YOU[TH] Decides projects during 2016/17. The YOU[TH] Decides Initiative is a successful and innovative programme that allows young people to decide what projects to support from the applications that are made.
Applicants are asked to submit projects that increase the 'Opportunities for Children and Young People' in the Almond Neighbourhood partnership area. [Max grant £500]
TheNeighbourhood Partnership is keen to encourage a wide range of projects and these could relate to:
- Sports
- Outdoor Education
- Arts and media
- Recreation Environment
- Community Participation
