'Walk Hack' in the City Centre

22 October 2015

Walk Hack is a two day event on 30/31 October 2015, identifying innovative ways to get more people walking in and through Edinburgh city centre, brought to you by the City Centre Neighbourhood Partnership, Sustrans and Snook.

It will provide a platform for citizens to collaborate and to develop innovative ways to excite, enthuse, and re-design walking routes and their surrounding environment.

Both days will feature talks from experts on the challenges to walking in cities, how to influence behaviour change, effective design and on the history of Edinburgh's iconic streets.

The ideas generated at the event could result in physical products, digital apps, ideas for new campaigns or even influence policy that might consider local infrastructure or route maps.

This event is open to everyone - you don't need to be an expert in urban planning, be a professional designer or have "hacked" before (but if you are or have, you are welcome too.) We're looking for all citizens to get involved in this initiative.

You can grab a free ticket for either Friday or Saturday, for both, or just to see the finished ideas and enjoy a drink on Saturday afternoon, from 4pm.
