Leithers choose how funds will be spent in their community

For the past seven years, City of Edinburgh has run Leith Decides - an event where the people of Leith are directly involved in deciding how Council Community Grants should be spent locally.

Last year, Leith Links Community Council successfully obtained Scottish Government funding and ran a smaller-scale event for community projects in the Leith Links area.

This year, Leith Links Community Council has been awarded further Scottish Government "Community Choices" funding.  The three Leith Community Councils are teaming up with City of Edinburgh Council to create a much larger overall pot of cash for the community in Leith.

The fund

A grand total of £116,000 will be divided into 3 pots of money:

Small- grants of up to £500

Medium- grants between £501 and £5,000

Large- grants between £5,001 and £10,000

You can only make one application, so you must choose which pot best suits your project idea.
