Caught in the act

On 26th September a member of the University Boat Club observed three youths spray painting tags on the Union Canal foot bridge at Colinton Road. The member of the Boat Club contacted the South West Community Safety Team advising that three suspects were still in the vicinity.
With the help of British Waterways staff, members of the local community, Lothian & Borders Police and the Community Safety Officer for the area, the three suspects were identified, tracked and arrested. The suspects were found in possession of spray paint, plans of future work, drawings and 500 images of their work on a digital camera.
