Local people know best what's needed in their community. For the fourth year Portobello & Craigmillar Neighbourhood Partnership are giving local people the power to decide how £22,637 of Community Grants Funding will be spent.

Local groups with a good idea about an event or a project that will benefit their community should start to consider their bids now. The partnership will have a launch event on 5th September at the Craigmillar Library where the application process will be officially opened, with a closing date for submissions set for 5pm on 28th September 2018.

Application Form
Funding Guidance

There are two funding levels available. As in previous years groups can apply for the smaller amount up to £500, however the larger amount has been increased to £2,000. Applications that meet the funding criteria for the large amount will go forward to the voting section of the project which will commence on 29 October and run until 9 November at a number of venues across the partnership area. The results of the voting will be announced on 12 November.

Everyone aged 8 years and over who lives, works, volunteers, or studies in the Partnership area can vote. We want as many people as possible to take part. Voting will require people to select 5 separate projects. Voters cannot load votes onto one or two projects, it must be 5 different projects selected on the ballot paper.

To complement the launch of this years You Decide PB Initiative the Partnership will hold a Meet the Funders Event. This type of event is a free marketplace, providing access to funding information for community projects. It is an opportunity for groups to discuss their ideas with potential funders and collect a range of information about possible sources of grant aid. The event also offers the groups an opportunity to meet and work together.

Information on both the You Decide PB Initiative and Meet the Funders event will be available on the Partnership website in the coming weeks.
