Where and when
On Sunday 21 September, an important step in the regeneration of Sighthill will take place as Broomview House is demolished. The blowdown will take place on Sunday 21st between 11am and 1pm.
No safe viewing areas
Please be aware that due to its location, there are no safe viewing areas that offer a full view of the building. You are advised to watch the demolition on television or by watching the footage that will be available shortly after the demolition on this website.
Road Closures
The main road closures will be at Calder Road and Broomhouse Road but other minor roads will also be closed. These roads will be closed from 8am until 4pm on the 21st September. Traffic will NOT be allowed into the exclusion zone after 8am, but cars will be allowed out until 10am.
The Lothian Bus services 3, 25, 34 & 35, and First services 27 & 28 will be diverted from the Calder Rd closure via Wester Hailes Rd, Murrayburn Rd, and Longstone Rd. The Lothian Bus service 21 will be diverted from Broomhouse Rd closure via Bankhead Ave and Bankhead Drive. All bus stops on closed roads will be out of operation from 8am until 4pm on Sunday 21st September, after which services will be back to normal.
