Community Grants Info
Community Grants Funds are available to local constituted groups for one-off projects up to a maximum of £5000. The Fund supports projects which advance the work of the Neighbourhood Partnership and the aims of the local Community Plan - a copy of the Community plan can be accessed at Local Community Plan.

Forth NP Community Grants Fund 2009 - 2010
The Neighbourhood Partnership Community Grants Fund budget allocation in 2009/10 is £35,929. In addition the sum of £2,761 was carried forward from 2008/09, giving a total budget in 2009/10 of £38,690.
Three grants were agreed by delegated authority in April/May, at a total cost of £13,151. These grants were:
- £4,985 to North Edinburgh Arts to run a Carnival Club from April 2009.
- £3,166 to Royston Wardieburn Community Centre to provide recreational activities for children.
- £5,000 to North Edinburgh Childcare to provide introductory childcare training course to 12 unemployed people.
This left a balance of £25,539 for allocation in the remainder of 2009/10.
The Forth Neighbourhood Partnership Public Meeting on 9 June agreed to award the following grants at a total cost of £22,183:
- £1,227 to North Edinburgh Intergenerational Project (SACRO) to provide intergenerational events in Forth.
- £2,200 to Stepping Stones (North Edinburgh) to run 2 Life Skills Groups for young parents.
- £5,000 to Trinity Rugby Club (Trinity Consortium) for a feasibility Study for youth/sports facility at Bangholm.
- £4,728 to Children Inc to provide supported family outings to Scotland Yard Adventure Centre.
- £2,068 to Circle Project to provide equipment for a Family Gardening Project.
- £1,350 to Pilton Youth & Children's Project to fund a week long 'Hip Hop' festival during 2009.
- £1,450 to North Edinburgh Childcare to provide a programme of Children?s outings.
- £2,160 to Royston Wardieburn Community Centre - Provide a programme of Summer Holiday activities.
- £2,000 to The Edinburgh Mela to contribute to the overall cost to plan and run the High Rises Rising High project.
Two other projects were continued for further information with the balance of funding of £3,356 being ring fenced for these projects subject to further information being provided. These projects are:
- Black Community Development Project - to establish a forum for BME communities in Forth.
- JUMP (joined up master planning) - to contribute to the overall cost to run the JUMP 2 DE-Light exhibition celebrating the Edinburgh Waterfront, as part of the Edinburgh Art Festival.
Once a decision is taken on how much to award to these projects then the Community Grants Fund budget for 2009/10 will be fully committed. Further funding will be available from April 2010.
Forth NP Community Grants Fund 2008 - 2009
The Neighbourhood Partnership budget amounted to £36,154 in 2008/09.This includes £225 carried over from 2007/08.
The Neighbourhood Partnership recommended the following awards at its meeting on 17 June 2008.
- £3,644 to North Edinburgh Childcare to support trips for local children attending holiday clubs
- £2,650 to Circle (formerly the Family Service Unit) to support two projects for the North Edinburgh Children's Parliament
- £4,927 to North Edinburgh Arts to support an in-house music project
- £3,030 to Granton Youth Service to carry out a youth consultation project in the Trinity area
- £3,150 to Pilton Retreat for the purchase of new playground equipment
- £1,260 to Pilton Youth and Childrens Project (PYCP) to support a week long hip-hop festival
- £1,650 to Royston Wardieburn Community Council for the installation of three external noticeboards
An award of £3,151 was also made to Pilton Equalities Project under SO84.

Leaving a balance of £12,692 in the Community Grants Fund for future allocation in 2008/09.
The Neighbourhood Partnership recommended the following awards at its meeting on 25 November 2008.
- £1,391 to Pilton Community Health Project to support more people to access health services.
- £3,000 to Holy Cross/St Margaret Mary's Youth Club to support a newly established youth club.
- £4,540 to North Edinburgh Shorts Group to support production of a youth based film.
- £1,000 to Neo Productions to create and stage an original play involving BME groups.
