Edinburgh Partnership
The Edinburgh Partnership is the community planning partnership for the city. It is made up of representatives from key public and voluntary organisations, strategic partnerships, business and community sectors.
The Edinburgh Partnership leads joint action to address key issues facing people living and working in the city. The Community Plan sets out the priorities for the Partnership. These are currently being revised to focus on sustainable economic development, affordable housing, social inclusion and measures to tackle climate change.
A key area of work is the development of an effective Partnership Single Outcome Agreement for 2009, building on outcomes from the Community Plan and the key plans of the local partners.
The Partnership was successful in its bid for £5m European funding to help unemployed people into work and training and to regenerate disadvantaged communities. The Partnership is now responsible for directing the programme of 19 projects across the city and for meeting the agreed Programme targets.
Community engagement is at the heart of community planning and the Partnership's Community Engagement Strategy and Action Plan seeks to engage at all levels of community planning - neighbourhood, communities of interest and city-wide.
