Local Consultations

WEEK OF ACTION 2

The first Week of Action carried out by the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership was such a success that the Partnership is going to have another one from 1st to 7th June 2009.

The area to be covered is bounded by London Road, Leith Walk, Easter Road and Dalmeny Street. The area will include Dalmeny Street Park and Montgomery Street Park. Click on the link below for a map:

Planning is underway and the following themes have been identified:

v     Make the area cleaner, greener and safer.

v     Raise awareness of services provided by Services for Communities (The City of Edinburgh Council)

v     Raise awareness of services provided by Lothian and Borders Police.

v     Develop strategies to tackle identified problems.

v     Crime surveys.

v     Community engagement.

v     Deal with anti-social behaviour.

v     Dog fouling / littering initiatives

The local community can help in the following ways:

v     Do you know of any issues in the area which need to be tackled?

v     Do you have any ideas on how to solve an issue?

v     Is there anything you would like more information about?

v     Could your local group or organisation take part by holding an event during that week? (for example, a community litter pick-up day, an event to raise awareness of your group)

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, we would like to hear from you.  In order to ensure your input can be included in the planning you should get in touch by 15 May 2009.  Contact details are as below:
