Winter Weather Planning
Winter Weather Planning
The West Neighbourhood has been working
with the Winter Weather Working Together team, Neighbourhood
Partnerships and local communities over the past year to establish
a programme of supporting resources for our communities in the
event of severe winter weather.
Specific consultation has been undertaken with our
Neighbourhood Partnerships to ensure all of our communities needs
are represented.
In addition to the priority road and pavement
pre-gritting, snow clearance and subsequent gritting, locations of
high priority have been identified across the West
Neighbourhood.
These include: Schools and nurseries
Medical Centres
Sheltered Housing
Nursing Homes
Community Centres/Amenities
Local shopping areas
The link below is to the Winter Road and Pavement
Maintenance page where, amongst other information, there is an
interactive map of Salt Bins and Gritting Routes (CW
Priority 1 and 2 only at the moment)

There is also a searchable directory of the Bins for those
who are visually impaired (this version can work with screen
readers so I'm told) and there will be a similar resource soon form
Gritting Routes.
