Local Community Plans are written as a summary of the main things local people want to see changed or improved in their area.

The new Local Community Plan will run from 2014 to 2017. The content of the new LCP was approved by the South West Partnership Board on 7th October 2014 and can be found here. It was officially launched at the end of October along with plans from the eleven other Neighbourhood Partnerships in Edinburgh. This Plan follows on from the 2011-2014 Plan, which can be found  here.

Why renew?

The Local Community Plans are updated to make sure they stay relevant to the needs of communities. We intend to build on the work that has already taken place in the South West and include new emerging issues for the community.

To help revise the Local Community Plan we asked local people what they think the main issues are in their area.

What we did to consult

Over spring and into summer 2014 the Neighbourhood Partnership team consulted across the community on what issues the new plan should prioritise. We produced an online survey that local people were encouraged to complete, with paper versions available on request and at libraries. We focused on getting opinions from specific groups such as young people, disabled groups, and minority communities. We consulted with the voluntary sector, and tried to ensure the plan reflects the range of opinions that exist across South West Edinburgh.

An executive summary of the process can be accessed here.
