Many people and organisations will have heard about national police reform, and the establishment of Police Scotland, the new national police service. As a result of this national reform there will be changes to way policing is run inEdinburgh.
The main change is that there will be a new 'Local Policing Plan forEdinburgh', and a new 'Local Police and Fire Committee', which will be set up to oversee delivery of this new police plan (and the new Fire and Rescue Service Plan).
This event is for communities and organisations working in City Centre and Leith (City Centre and Leith wards) to come and find out about how policing will change in Edinburgh, and how people can influence the priorities within the new plan.
This will not be a usual public meeting with presentations then questions and answers. The event will be run in an 'open door' format to enable everybody who attends to have their say.
This means people can come along for 20 to 30 minutes at anytime during 7 to 9 pm and get the information they need, give comments on key topics and meet senior council and police officers to ask one to one questions.
