20mph Speed Limit for Edinburgh
If you're out and about in the city centre or rural west Edinburgh over the next few weeks, you'll start to spot signs and road markings advertising the new 20mph speed limit - which comes into effect in the first zone on 31 July 2016.
Large 20mph signs will mark the entrance and exit of a 20mph area where the speed limit is changing. These will be supplemented by smaller repeater signs or road markings with speed limit roundels.
20mph will be phased in across other areas of the city over the coming year. These are:
