Delivering the Local Community Plan
Many local people told us their views about what they felt would make the city centre a better place. We published these priorities in the Local Community Plan 2014-2017.
What happens next?
We are establishing 5 sub groups. These groups will work together to identify and deliver projects that meet the priorities in the Plan. The Partnership Board supports the sub groups and will monitor their progress.
We already have Forums - are these changing?
The Neighbourhood Partnership sub groups work on actions from the Local Community Plan. As the Plans last for 3 years, the sub groups are also reviewed every 3 years. We look at whether they still reflect the priorities in the new plan, how effective they have been and who should be involved.
In the past sub group meetings have been open 'forums' that anyone can attend. We are looking at more effective ways for everyone to engage with progress, and report concerns, so we are changing these to 'action groups', and building them around service providers, local organisations and community groups.
So how can people get involved with the new sub groups?
If you or your group/organisation would like to work in partnership on one of the projects you see described, or if you have an idea that would need some partnership working to meet one of the Local Community Plan priorities, please get in touch.
Some groups will also provide other ways to engage, such as surgeries or events, as part of their projects.
