At the end of 2011 the Neighbourhood Partnership Board took the decision to hold three "Themed" meetings per year commencing 24 January 2102 with the themed meeting of "Meet the Groups". This was followed in June with the Jubilee Years and the October theme was "Your Streets - Your Vision". These themes are on subjects identified by talking to residents and the views of our sub groups.
The meeting on 12 February was themed around Total Lochend, the June meeting was themed around Police Planning and Domestic Violence.
The November 2013 meeting presented information on the Welfare Reform Act 2012. This meeting provided information on the recent changes to benefits and the changes yet to come. Council staff were available to provide information on rents, income maximation, tenant support and Restalrig Benefit Advice Project were available to provide advice on a range of subjects.
On 25 February 2014 the theme of the meeting was the refresh of the Local Community Plan. This meeting was well attended and we were pleased to have a great range of opinions and suggestions as to what should be inclued in the Local Plan for 2014-2017.
Our meeting on 16 May 2014 was an Intergenerational Event. We were delighted to see so many young people sharing views and having great fun with some older people. There was a great selection of activities ranging from memory boxes to Wii games; speed dating to bowling and curling. See the poster for the event here.
During the consultation for the Local Community Plan several issues were noted regarding problems with absent landlords, sub-lets, estate maintenance, shared repairs etc. In response to these concerns from residents the NP Board themed the meeting in December 2014 around these issues. Staff from various service departments were available to give information and advice. Please see the poster for the meeting here
As these NP Board meetings are now informal themed meetings, there are no items of business; all reports are taken at Neighbourhood Partnership Business Meetings. Reports approved at the NP meetings can be found on Council Papers online.
