Liberton & Gilmerton Neighbourhood Partnership

Liberton Gilmerton is situated on the southern edge of Edinburgh, combining both urban and relatively rural areas. It comprises a number of  smaller and quite distinct communities, each with a strong local identity. These include  - Liberton, Gilmerton, Inch, Gracemount, Moredun and Southhouse/Burdiehouse. Around 33,000 people live in this area.

Key landmarks in the area include the Cameron Toll shopping centre and the New Royal Infirmary. A number of historic links exist in the area including the Gilmerton Cove, The Balmwell and Old Bordeaux linked with Mary, Queen of Scots. The southern edge of the neighbourhood is bounded by the City of Edinburgh Bypass providing easy access to all parts of the city and to the south.

The Partnership works together to improve the area for all those who live, work, study or visit here. We positively encourage voluntary organisations, community groups, service providers, residents and local businesses to get involved. Be an active member of the Partnership and help the city centre thrive.
