CPR Training (Free) - Your Local Fire Station
CPR Training (Free) - Your Local Fire Station
The Scottish Fire &
Rescue Service has joined forces with the British Heart
Foundation to help save lives across the
country by providing fire stations as a base for members of the
public to teach themselves CPR. This partnership is one part
of the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service's commitment to support
the Scottish Government's Out of Hosptial Cardiac Arrest Strategy,
which aims to save an extra 1,000 lives in Scotland by 2020.
Tollcross and Liberton Fire Stations are both participating
in this scheme and the training is
FREE. The Fire Stations now
have instructional DVDs and mannequins which can be
made available to members of public to help teach them how to
conduct CPR.
The Fire Stations are running two sessions a
month; one at Tollcross Fire Station,
Ponton Street, EH3 9BP and one at Liberton Fire
Station, Kirk Brae, EH16 6HT (Dates yet to be
confirmed as at 21.01.16).
In addition to this Fire Crews could attend any groups
interested in this input. The group would simply need a venue
with DVD player and screen.
Any individual or group interested should contact the
Station Manager directly. See below.
If you don't live/work in South Central or Liberton
Gilmerton Neighbourhood Partnership areas and want to find out if
your local Station is part of the scheme, check their
website. http://www.firescotland.gov.uk/
