How are we doing?

NPs were established in 2007, and since then, they are committed to ongoing review and continuous improvement.

In 2013, as part of the Council governance review, it was agreed to retain Neighbourhood Partnerships as Advisory Committees of the Council, but to undertake a review to strengthen and develop their role in delivering better outcomes for communities.

Involving community and partner stakeholders, sounding board sessions, discussions and desktop research was carried out.  Feedback from this informed the improvement options outlined in the report to the Communities and Neighbourhoods Committee in May 2013.

The scope of the review, as reported to the  Communities and Neighbourhoods Committee on Tuesday 19 February, includes work to:

- develop and strengthen current practice
- enhance community participation
- strengthen the strategic influence of NPs

Following a series of stakeholder workshops held in March, and an online survey which closed on Tuesday 2 April 2013, a report was presented to the Communities and Neighbourhoods Commitee on Tuesday 7 May 2013 to outline the findings from these discussions.

Thank you to everyone who attended the workshop session and completed the survey.  The report and findings are available to view via the Council's online committee papers portal or you can download a pdf copy  here.
