Neighbourhood Environmental Projects

The Neighbourhood Environment Programme (NEP) encourages South Central residents to get involved in making decisions for environmental improvements to HRA land and allows them to have an influence on a mainstream budget.

Through NEP the community is provided with greater local accountability over environmental spend.

The NEP pulls together the views of local people, which presents the partnership with a strategic overview of the priorities across the area.

Last year alone, nearly £130,000 was spent on locally identified NEP projects, which are managed by the South Neighbourhood Property Management Team.

This includes an ongoing commitment to continue with the environmental master plan throughout the Dumbiedykes area.

Continued support from residents' groups is the key driving force behind the programme.

The Portfolio detailing the projects for 2011/12 can be viewed here.
