Environment & Town Centre Group
Local people have consistently told us that they want South Central to be as clean, green and attractive as possible and that this impacts significantly on how they feel about their neighbourhood.
Improvements to the environment includes protecting and developing the green space and the built environment, and also addressing wider environmental issues.
In addition, the community wants to make sure its public spaces are maintained to a high standard as befits a capital city, with specific attention paid to the regeneration and development of the local town centres.
The group has been formed through the amalgamation of the earlier sub group noted below to take forward the Improve The Environment & Town Centres local community plan priority.

The Meadows and Bruntsfield Links Management Advisory Group
The Meadows and Bruntsfield Links Management Advisory Group also contribute to this priority and the group has a remit covering:
- Development and implementation of the Management Plan for the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links
- Develop the Parks Manifesto as relates to the Madows and Bruntsfield Links
- Support and develop the application process for Green Flag status
- Discuss and develop service delivery in line with the Local Community plan priority Improve the Environment and Town Centres
